Importance of a Trauma Informed Lens (VCH Leaders)
This course is a part of VCH Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) training intended to help increase our awareness of inclusion literacy, understanding unconscious bias and cross-cultural competency.
Participants will be introduced to the principles of trauma informed practice for EDI. They will gain an understanding that they do not need to be trauma experts to understand the effects of trauma. Topics will include levels and effects of trauma, vicarious trauma, self-care and resourcing.
Recommended Pre-requisite for this workshop:
Workshops in this EDI training (We recommend that the workshops are attending the following order):
- Foundations of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
- Understanding and Disrupting Bias
- Importance of a Trauma Informed Lens
- How to be an Ally
- Unconscious Bias for Hiring Managers
All participants must complete Foundations of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion before attending any of the other workshops.
