PHSA - LABS - REG - Nova Biomedical StatStrip® Glucose Meter Training

If you are under NORTHERN HEALTH, please register for the NHA course (23287)

This course is required for those under PHSA, FHA, VCH and PHC. For those under VCH, it is required for VCH Students; if you have a VCH Employee ID, you are to take the VCH course listed above.

This learning module is used for initial training for users of the Nova Biomedical StatStrip® Glucose Meter, as well as for annual renewal.

New users and staff who have not met the practical requirement of running 3 patients and 2 quality control tests (level 1 and 3) within a year are required (according to Diagnostic Accreditation Program) to complete the following:

1. Learning Module
2. Quiz at the end of the Learning Module
3. Submit the Glucose Meter User ID Request and Renewal Form

After you have successfully completed this learning module and quiz, contact your Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Leader or a mentor to arrange a time for the competency skill demonstration.

Staff who are current users and have met the practical requirement of running 3 patients and 2 quality control tests (level 1 and 3) over the course of the year are required to:

1. Review the Learning Module
2. Complete the quiz at the end of this learning module

Current users are not required to submit the Glucose Meter User ID Request and Renewal Form - Authorization for use of the meter is automatically renewed.
