PHSA - BCEHS - DEI - 400: Session 2/5

Inclusive leadership: Frameworks and complexities

Focus: Leadership frameworks and the practice of reflexivity through inclusive leadership.

In the context of increasing complexity, leaders are called to critically examine how equity, accessibility, reflexivity, and relationality shape leadership practice. This course introduces relational and transformational leadership frameworks, distinguishing them from transactional approaches, and highlights how leadership is shaped by context, systems, and power dynamics. Participants will examine the distinction between leadership and management while building foundational knowledge of inclusive leadership. Through an intercultural competency lens, participants will reflect on positionality and the impacts of historical and ongoing systems of oppression to support the development of equity centered leadership practice in healthcare.

This session is delivered as a component of the course Inclusive leadership in unpredictable times: Heart work and hard work.
