Privacy, Information Access and Handling Confidential Information

Welcome to the Privacy, Information Access and Handling Confidential Information online course!

This course will teach you about the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), personal information, your role and responsibility as Fraser Health staff, medical staff, student or volunteer team member in protecting personal information.

By the end of this course you will:

• Learn about the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and how it impacts you, Fraser Health, our clients, patients and residents.

• Meet the Privacy and Information Access Departments and learn about privacy breaches, privacy reviews and Freedom of Information requests.

• Understand how you can protect personal information in your day-to-day work and in what ways Info Access and Privacy services are here to support you.

This course is 20 minutes of self-paced learning comprised of four modules with a short knowledge check after you have completed each module. There will be a final quiz of 10 questions, to achieve your certificate of completion you must receive a passing grade of 80%.
