Violence Prevention – PVPC – Advanced Team Response (ATR) Classroom – PHSA
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe how an advanced team response fits into the PVPC.
- Describe roles and responsibilities of an advanced team.
- Explain why and when to use an advanced team response.
- Complete a point-of-care risk assessment before planning and during an intervention.
- Plan and demonstrate an advanced team response, using the most appropriate and least restrictive response.
- Describe post-incident response procedures.
This course will:
- Build on de-escalation and personal safety skills taught in the core PVPC classroom session.
- Provide participants with the skills and confidence to intervene safely as a team during a violent incident while maintaining the helping relationship with the individuals in their care.
PHSA STAFF ONLY who may be required to utilize an Advanced Team Response and have completed the prerequisite e-learning modules as well as the full day PVPC classroom session. |
