PHSA - BCC - Immunotherapies

This course provides an overview of immunotherapies, symptom management and nurse initiated phone calls.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of immune therapy
  • Understand the difference between immunotherapy and chemotherapy
  • Understand the risk factors associated with immunotherapy - checkpoint inhibitors
  • Recognize and manage risk factors and side effects of checkpoint inhibitors
  • Educate patients about the importance of reporting signs and symptoms in a timely manner
  • Be knowledgeable about the nursing process related to immunotherapy and nurse initiated phone calls
  • Be informed about available resources related to immunotherapy
