Foundations of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research and Evaluation
Do you want your research to be equitable and inclusive? Are you interested in learning about how to embed EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) principles in your research? The goals of this workshop are to introduce learners to basic EDI terms and concepts, as well as skills and competencies required to embed EDI principles in research. We will also begin to explore strategies to promote EDI in research. While the session focuses on research, the topics will also be relevant to those working in quality improvement, evaluation or other areas where EDI and responsiveness to diverse populations are important.
Learning Objectives:
Define core concepts of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
Identify skills and competencies required to embed EDI principles in research.
Understand and recognize barriers at various levels (individual, organizational, systemic) to embedding EDI principles in research.
Identify ways to address barriers and promote equitable, diverse and inclusive research.
