PHSA - TCBC - Fertility Conversation in Gender-Affirming Care

Gender-affirming medical and surgical treatments can have temporary and permanent impacts on a person's fertility. This course offers guidance for primary care providers who are having fertility conversations with transgender, Two-Spirit, and non-binary (TTNB) people. Drawing from the available research, this course outlines key components of fertility discussions and describes how to personalize this information based on a client's needs, goals and circumstances. It emphasizes an unbiased and gender-affirming approach to care and offers a shared-decision making framework to guide conversations.
