ISLH – EECC – Climate-Resilient Island Health
Climate-Resilient Island Health is a four-part learning series for all Island Health staff and medical staff. Together, the courses explore how climate change affects health in our region, how Island Health is responding, and how we can all contribute to a system that delivers safe, sustainable care in a changing climate.
In 2023, we surveyed Island Health staff about their climate change concerns. Over 90% said they were worried about climate change, and most felt Island Health should do more. These courses are part of our response.
Each course takes about 45 minutes and includes short readings, videos, and interactive activities. Learners will also hear from Island Health staff who have seen the impacts of climate change firsthand and are taking action in their work.
The learning series supports Island Health’s Climate Change and Planetary Health Strategy and reflects our commitment to climate action, system resilience, and environmental stewardship. The self-paced e-learning format allows learners to complete the curriculum on their own schedule while exploring real, local stories of climate leadership across our health system.
