PHSA - CW - BC Children's and BC Women's Welcome for New Employees

This on-site classroom session provides new C&W employees a necessary opportunity to feel a sense of welcome connection and gain certainty about their worksite and supports available. Participants will engage in a self-directed quest that connects new employees to our campus, Teachings, Priorities and each other.

The session is appropriate for all roles and disciplines, and should be completed in the first three months of employment.

Immediately following the session, in the same room, participants have the opportunity to meet union shop stewards from BCNU, HSA, and HEU.

This course offering replaces PHSA - CW - BC Children's and BC Women's General Hospital Orientation (GHO), starting on December 1, 2025.

-Connect with colleagues and begin building community ​

-Recognize how C&W’s values, Coast Salish Teachings & North Star Priorities guide daily work ​
-Navigate the campus and connect locations and services to our C&W values and identity​
-Locate important organizational information on the POD ​
-Identify resources that support a psychologically and culturally safe workplace and your own personal wellness
