PHC Simulation Learning Strategies: Facilitator Development
Course Description
The Simulation Learning Strategies: Facilitator Development Curriculum is the first foundational workshop for healthcare professionals who are new to utilizing simulation as an educational method and strategy.
This course provides theory and practice; emphasizing debriefing/feedback relevant for learning.
Learning Objectives
In this workshop learners will:
- Develop a foundational knowledge of simulation-based learning strategies
- Identify elements of effective teamwork (Crisis Resource Management) and incorporate those elements into simulation-based learning objectives
- Learn the foundations of debriefing skills and their application in simulation-based learning
- Plan and develop a simulation scenario
- Facilitate a simulation scenario
This curriculum includes several online modules, please complete The Simulation Facilitator Pathways e-Learning Module (#20661) and Crisis Resource Management (#28243) on Learning Hub.
Educators and healthcare professionals who are currently or new to using simulation-based education. |

The workshops are offered to you by PHC Simulation Team. We begin pulling from our waitlist 2 weeks before the course opens. For those in other health authorities please email simulation@providencehealth.bc.ca and we will register you on the waitlist and enroll you if space is available 2 weeks before the course commences. |
