Exploring Frontline Leadership

Course Description:

This 2-part workshop is designed to help emerging and newly appointed leaders develop the mindset, communication skills, and practical tools needed to lead effectively in today’s healthcare environment. Grounded in VCH values, participants will learn how to lead with empathy, navigate tough conversations, and support others through uncertainty and change.

This 2-part course is a great foundation for those frontline leaders who are looking to apply for our Frontline Leadership Program as the next step in their leadership journey.

Course Objectives:

• Develop greater self-awareness and confidence as a frontline leader

• Strengthen professional communication through active listening and presence

• Recognize communication barriers to build trust and clarity

• Recognize the SCARF model as a method for understanding resistance and supporting others through change

• Practice giving reinforcing and corrective feedback to promote learning and accountability

• Recognize the importance of effective delegation

Once registered, you will receive the calendar invite for the corresponding Part 2 session [If you registered for Part 1 taking place on Monday, October 26, 2026 you will receive a Part 2 invite taking place on Monday, November 2nd, 2026 from 9:00am to 12:30pm]. After you attend one Part 1 and Part 2 session each, you will receive your completion certificate on LearningHub.
