Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)
The Addiction Medicine and Substance Use (AMSU) program has launched a seven-part SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) education series for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Adapted with permission from Interior Health, these modules promote a population health approach to reducing alcohol-related harms.
The series offers practical guidance on screening and intervention, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed, culturally safe care, and tailored considerations for youth, older adults, and perinatal populations.
Designed to support clinical decision-making, these modules are intended for clinical and allied health staff across all care settings.
