PHSA - TCBC - Gender-Affirming Sexual Health Care: Pleasure, Desire, & Sexual Expression
This course is a primer for supporting gender diverse clients with concerns related to their sexual health and wellbeing. Transgender, Two-Spirt and non-binary (TTNB) people may have sexual health care needs providers are unfamiliar with, such as changes to sexual function, desire, or sexual response cycles as a result of gender-affirming medical or surgical interventions. This course focuses on integrating key relational practices with gender-affirming care considerations relevant to sexual health.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of common sexual health care needs of TTNB clients.
- Apply principles of gender-affirming relational practice to sexual health care interactions.
- Build confidence supporting clients’ sexual and relational wellness.
- Become familiar with resources available to support clients’ agency in their sexual and relational wellness.
