PHSA - QPCI - Taking Action for Systemic Change: Eradicating Indigenous-Specific Racism and Discrimination Through Patient Safety Reporting

This course uses storytelling to highlight the impact of Indigenous-Specific Racism and Discrimination (ISRD) and how to report patient safety incidents involving harm to Indigenous clients, families and/or communities.

After completing this course, learners will be able to:

• Understand the importance of reporting in the efforts to eliminate ISRD in the healthcare system
• Establish awareness of the new process for reporting ISRD
• Recognize their role in the ISRD reporting process
• Know how to report ISRD events in the Patient Safety & Learning Systems (PSLS)
• Be aware of the resources available to support ongoing learning, understanding, and reporting of ISRD
