Cłhi:ya:ỳəstəl’ (Working Together) Indigenous Cultural Safety and Anti-Racism
The Cłhi:ya:ỳəstəl’ (working together) Indigenous Cultural Safety and Anti-Racism course is designed to deepen your understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in the Fraser Salish Region and the impact of Indigenous-specific racism on health care experiences to support your journey of cultural safety, humility, and anti-racism. This course was endorsed by the Indigenous Health Collaborative Council and developed in partnership with Fraser Health, First Nations Health Authority (Fraser Salish), First Nations Health Council (Fraser Salish), and Métis Nation British Columbia.
Upon completion of this course, you will have the ability to:
- Explain the diversity of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples in the Fraser Salish region.
- Apply your understanding of the impact of colonialism and Indigenous-specific racism to your role in the health care system.
- Apply basic principles and practices of cultural safety, cultural humility, and anti-racism within your role in health care.
