Pyxis ES Module
Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to provide a generic overview of features available on the Pyxis™ ES system.
Note: Some features may not apply to your facility or role.
RTs/AAs/Nuc Med Technologists/Clinical Students (excluding specialty education and advanced practice nurses regulated in British Columbia) have access to only non-controlled substances. However, all learners must complete all modules to obtain the course certificate.
This e-learning module is mandatory for:
Clinical Students and Residents
(Example: Nursing, Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesiology) who are assigned to a FH Pyxis™ site for the first time.
Note: Please use a desktop/laptop computer or tablet to complete the module.

- My Patients List (2.5 mins)
- Remove in Profiled Mode (8.5 mins)
- Removed in Non-profiled Mode (6 mins)
- Waste Medication (4 mins)
- Return Medication (4 mins)
- Resolve Discrepancies (4 mins)
- Inventory Medications (5 mins)
- Recover Failed Storage Spaces (3 mins)
Mandatory: Clinical Students: Nursing | Specialty and Advanced Education students assigned to a rotation that less than 7 weeks | Respiratory Therapy | Anesthesiology Residents
Optional: All other new hires and returning staff. |
