PHSA - HEMBC - Psychological First Aid for Professionals
This course will provide professionals volunteering with Disaster Psychosocial Support (DPS) team with an overview of Psychological First Aid (PFA) including its core goals and principles, delivery methods, as well as self-care reminders during a deployment.
After completing this course learners will be able to:
- Describe what Psychological First Aid is
- Understand and identify the principles of PFA
- Understand important considerations to uphold cultural safety
- Identify and describe the eight objectives of PFA
- Identify people who need more help and how best to offer support and/or connections to resources
