Economic Evaluation: Costing
*While clinical and patient benefits should always be the primary consideration for resource allocation in a healthcare organization, these decisions must often be made within a context of resource scarcity. Therefore, optimizing value for a patient population necessitates calculating the costs of interventions. This workshop is designed to describe different approaches and definitions of costing including: fixed vs. variable, indirect vs. direct, and dark green vs. light green. The workshop will include a combination of didactic teaching and group exercises to explore this topic.
Objectives:
- Learn why Cost is important
- Learn about different types of Cost
- Cost an Intervention
