Implicit Bias: Building a Common Understanding
Everyone has implicit biases. Having implicit biases doesn't make us a bad person, but when we act on our implicit biases, we can harm others and compromise our own integrity.
This learning module is for everyone who serves at Fraser Health, including leaders and health care providers. It aims to help you:
- Define what implicit biases are
- Examine different types of implicit bias
- Unpack the impact of implicit biases, and illustrate why it is important to address them
- Uncover some of our implicit biases
- Gain tools to address our implicit biases
