Successful completion of this online course is a prerequisite prior to attending the Acute Care Orientation: Nursing Clinical Skills session or any adult central venous catheter skills lab. Central venous catheter management requires evidence-based, best practice standards to minimize complications and improve patient outcomes. This learning module's intention is to provide an overview of CVCs, their care, and maintenance. CVC Management is a specialized skill performed by IV practitioners who have demonstrated the required competencies.
