Please review the program details below. We also do not enable registrations here on Learning Hub due to our screening process for participants.

The New Leader Orientation (NLO) is a nine-week cohort program designed to give new leaders the resources and support needed to perform the core operational functions of their role. The program starts with an in-person workshop where participants have an opportunity to meet prior to engaging with each other throughout the program.

The first synchronous session is a six-hour webinar which focuses on the following core operational areas:
• Inclusive Leadership
• Occupational Health and Safety
• Psychological Health and Safety and Wellness
• Recruitment for included roles
• Resource Management
• Performance Management

Following the six-hour webinar, participants attend weekly 1 – 2 hour workshops focused on:
• Recruitment and Selection for Included Roles
• Budget Variances and PeopleSoft for Leaders
• Risk Management, ReAct and PCQO
• EDMP and the Medical Duty to Accommodate Process
• Introduction to VCH Onboarding
• Feedback Conversations using the iDISC model
• Values Based Leadership
• Professional Practice & Clinical Informatics
• Recognition, Retention and Roundtable

*Participants are encouraged to attend the weekly focused workshops that best align with their leadership role.

Within each of these areas, the new leader will find details on legislation, policy and procedures, the tools at their disposal, where to locate resources, and guidance on advancing their understanding in each specific topic.
