BCCDC COVID-19 Immunization for infants and children 6 months to 4 years of age

This course has been developed to support new and existing immunizers to provide COVID-19 vaccine to infants 6 months - children 4 years of age, and is about 1 hour in length.

**NOTE: This course builds on the education and training in the BCCDC COVID-19 immunization Competency Course for Nurses (LearningHub course #24913) or BCCDC COVID-19 Immunization Competency Course for Non-Nursing Health Professionals (LearningHub course #25286).

This course provides an overview of general principles for immunizing infants and children 6 months to 4 years of age which will include:
• An overview of the informed consent process
• Immunization communication
• Positioning and Landmarking
• Reducing immunization injection pain strategies and resources
• How to distinguish between anaphylaxis/fainting/anxiety

A certificate of completion will be generated once the course has been completed, and a minimum of 80% on the knowledge check has been attained.


New and existing vaccine providers who will be immunizing infants and children 6 months to 4 years of age with COVID-19 vaccines.
