Train the Trainer: Facilitating First 5-Minute Simulation Events

The First 5-Minutes (FFM) of a code blue event is the time from when a clinician calls a code blue, until the code blue team arrives. Simulating these events can prepare unit staff for these low frequency, high risk scenarios and set them up for success when the real event occurs. This workshop is for clinicians and educators who plan to run these simulations in their workplaces.

In this workshop, learners will:
• Develop a basic understanding of simulation theory, crisis resource management (CRM), and human factors
• Practice conducting effective FFM Mock Code sim events
• Plan for future FFM Mock Code events in their clinical area

Healthcare professionals who want to use simulation as a teaching method.
Open to healthcare professionals involved in clinical teaching.

This is an introductory level workshop - however, all levels of simulation facilitation experience are welcome to participate
