LEAP-CORE Online (Learning Essentials in Palliative Care – Pallium)
Course Description
LEAP CORE provides the basics of palliative care for clinicians providing palliative care across all settings: acute care, community, long term care, and specialist palliative care beds. It covers symptom management and psychosocial care. This 2 day course includes online modules and 4 webinars. Prerequisite
Registration with Pallium Canada is required, and instructions will be sent to you. There are 3 short pre-course surveys to complete prior to the start date. Please email PALLADMIN@islandhealth.ca to be provided an enrollment KEY to register on the Pallium Canada internet site. Learners complete online modules followed by live webinars with LEAP facilitators.

Advance Care Planning, Goals of Care and Decision-Making Pain, Dyspnea Hydration and Nutrition, Gastrointestinal Symptoms Delirium, Depression, Anxiety, and Grief Palliative Sedation, Request to Hasten Death Suffering, Spiritual Care, and Maintaining Hope
