Foundational Concepts of Working with People Who Use Substances and Their Care
Join this 2-hour course designed for healthcare professionals looking to enhance their skills in working with people who use substances. This is a great place to start if you are looking to increase your confidence or ask questions about substance use care.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Gain a general understanding of different substance types, effects, and other essentials.
- Learn how to discuss substance use in a trauma-informed, non-judgmental way.
- Understand how stigma affects people who use substances, and ways to improve health outcomes.
Format & Delivery:
This is an interactive session available online or in person (alternating throughout the year). This session is facilitated by a Nurse Educator and Peer Educator with lived/living experience.
