Introduction to Eating Disorders for Service Providers

This course is designed as an orientation to health care providers new to the field of eating disorders, including allied health and primary care providers. It aligns with the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the BC Eating Disorders Continuum of Services. Through taking this course, learners will be able to:
• Understand core content and principles from the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the BC
Eating Disorders Continuum of Services
• Summarize the function of an Eating Disorder and its impact on individuals and their
families
• Understand the differences between various Feeding & Eating Disorders
• Identify the differences between levels of care for treatment of Eating Disorder patients,
using the Short Treatment Allocation Tool for Eating Disorders (STATED)
