The scope of paramedics continues to expand and in accordance with this, a training package has been developed to provide Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs) with the education required to achieve the endorsement related to vitamin administration for those who do not currently hold the endorsement on their license. You must also have the endorsement for IV and IM on your license prior to taking this course.
This course will cover the content related to vitamin administration generally and specifically within BCEHS so you are prepared should Vitamins be included to the clinical practice guidelines.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Describe vitamins and their role in normal body function
- List indications for vitamin administration
- List contraindications and cautions associated with vitamin administration
- Explain adverse reactions associated with vitamin administration
- Identify routes of administration of vitamins
- Perform required siren documentation to be completed after vitamin administration
On completion of the course, the learner is required to independently submit their completion certificate to the EMALB to have the endorsement added to their license.
