This course will introduce learners to information and tools to become successful at managing employee performance. After completing this course learners will be able to:

  • Explain why performance management is an important use of time
  • Review managers' and employees' roles in the performance management process, as well as the role of collective agreements
  • Present best practices for performance management conversations through a three-step process: plan, meet and support
  • Review performance management approaches to high performers and consistent poor performers
  • Address common challenges to performance management
  • Connect effective performance management to a positive impact on teams and quality patient care
