An orientation and welcome day for staff new to BCCH Healthy Minds Centre. Utilizing a trauma informed lens,

Introduce staff to a general overview of the Mental Health Programs (organizational structure, overview of programs and staff roles)

Introduce staff to Trauma Informed Care and how to improve its implementation in Healthy Minds

Look at what patient / family centred care means and how to best implement it in Healthy Minds

Orientation to the building with regards to Safety & Security

Overview Emergency responses in the Mental Health building
Introduction to violence risk assessment process

Introduction to the rationale and purpose of FALLS assessment

Introduction to the rationale and purpose of SAM (suicide assessment and management).

Introduction to response to acute medical situation in Healthy Minds Centre

Introduction to PSLS process

Review of required education and access to policies
