Survey and Questionnaire Design

*Are you planning to conduct a survey? Come to our workshop to learn the basics.

Surveys are one of the most common ways to collect data, but it’s harder to design a good survey than most people would guess. To ensure that your survey will be effective and useful, this workshop will cover key elements such as sample size, identifying which concepts to measure and question types, as well as practical considerations for doing a survey in Fraser Health.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Explain why and when survey designs are used
  • Demonstrate sampling methods and determination of sample size
  • Discuss the relationship between sampling and generalizability
  • Evaluate the feasibility and utility of various methods of data collection as they apply to projects in Fraser Health
  • Identify the basics of question design, layout and sequencing as it relates to the concepts and questions of interest
  • List resources for analyzing survey data
