CPS - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) with Advanced Mega code (Lessons 1-11)
Fraser Health Staff and Providers ONLY If you register for this course but do not work in FHA you will be turned away from the class and risk losing a day from your schedule. We provide NRP for Fraser Health staff and providers only.
NRP workshops in Fraser Health:
Read the 8th Edition NRP textbook to prepare for your 8th edition NRP workshop. At this time the 8th Edition NRP online exam is not available. See https://learninghub.phsa.ca/Courses/27967/ for more information. Fraser Health does not reimburse for online NRP exams if you chose to use a website other than the exams that are prepaid through FHA and accessed through the Learning Hub.
This course provides the knowledge and skill required for NRP. Fraser Health offers workshops throughout the region at all 8 birthing sites. It is recommended that participants take the workshop at their home site as this promotes team work, reinforces proper use of equipment used at the site and highlights different processes followed at the site. Please register in only one workshop at a time (i.e. do not sign up for multiple intakes).
The NRP workshop is an 8 hour workshop and it is an intense day of learning. Please do not attend NRP after working a night shift or working on-call. Expect to be in the workshop until the scheduled end time.
It is HIGHLY recommended that you take an NRP workshop at your regular place of employment. If you must attend NRP at a different site please ensure that the same resuscitation devices are used. Every hospital in Fraser Health uses slightly different equipment.

It is recommended that you find an opportunity at your place of work to practice and become comfortable using the bagging device that is used there. This is especially important if you have never seen or used the equipment before. If you are not able to bag effectively on the day of your workshop you will not be successful in the evaluation portion of the day.
Fraser Health RNs working in Perinatal, Labor and delivery, Postpartum Units; Fraser Health RNs working NICU; Fraser Health RTs, Fraser Health Registered Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians. Any other areas of practice must have the site NICU or Maternity manager approval or you may be removed from registration. |

If you have completed an 8th Edition NRP exam within 30 days of your NRP workshop please bring your exam certificate to your workshop. Do not complete a 9th Edition NRP exam for your 8th edition NRP workshop. In preparation for your 8th edition workshop read and study your 8th edition textbook. The online version can be found at https://learninghub.phsa.ca/Courses/27967/ . Payment: FH employees who are required to take NRP for work do not pay for NRP. Providers who are FHA contractors do pay for courses. Payment for NRP workshops must be made by phone with credit card prior to the workshop. |
