Violence Prevention – PVPC Classroom – PHSA
Course Prerequisites
This eight-hour course is the classroom component of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum and builds on the skills learned in the PVPC e-learning modules. All eight PVPC eLearning modules must be completed before participating in the PVPC classroom.
Topics covered in-depth include:
• PVPC Framework
• Recognizing Risks and Behaviours
• Assessing and Planning (point-of-care risk assessments and behavioural care planning)
• Responding to the Risk (de-escalation skills, determining when and how to call for help, applying personal safety techniques)
• Reporting and Communicating Post Incident

Physical participation is required for this course. Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear such as running shoes. Do not wear heels, flip-flops, sandals, or open-toed shoes. All participants must wear a medical grade mask throughout the session. |
