Fetal Health Surveillance Refresher
This is an interprofessional workshop intended to facilitate learning related to practice in the care of pregnant patients requiring fetal health surveillance. This interactive, case based learning experience focuses on communication, consultation and decision making for interpretation and response to FHS results using intermittent auscultation and electronic fetal monitoring.
See details below for prerequisite information. Participation in this workshop completes the requirements for FHS recertification and a certificate of completion will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop.

Prior to the course, an email with the course information and the zoom link for the workshop will be sent to you – please ensure that your Learning Hub contact email is one that you check regularly. BEFORE THE WORKSHOP – You are required to complete the following two activities: Read the FREE online Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance - A Self-Learning Manual; and The pre-requisite to attend this workshop is the completion of the National online FHS course located on the UBC CPD website (https://elearning.ubccpd.ca/enrol/index.php?id=355). You must create a UBC CPD account and complete the online course and achieve (80%) on the FHS exam. There is a fee of $30 to write the FHS exam and you register and pay for it separately through UBC CPD. If you are a BCWH RN, the fee for the FHS exam can be waived for you, but only if you email Helen Boucher (helen.boucher@cw.bc.ca) identifying yourself as a BCWH RN and request a pre-paid voucher code. We cannot reimburse you if you pay for the exam any other way. If you do not submit your exam completion certificate prior to the workshop, you will be asked to re-register and return on another date. |
