Violence Prevention-Advanced Team Response - Fraser Health

This course is for current staff who work at Fraser Health sites ONLY.
This course is intended for High + ATR risk areas and Code White Responders
This course is completed once and then annual refresher modules are required to ensure your skills are up to date. - ATR/PVPC 90 min refresher
This is a provincially recognized course - if you took the course with a school or other Health Authority within B.C. then you need to send your certificate to safety@fraserhealth.ca for credit.

The goal of this class is to provide health care workers with the skills to respond as a team to provide safe and ethical care, and prevent or manage physical violence. Participants will review the different levels of an advanced team response, the roles of each team member, and the steps in a team intervention. Advanced team techniques will be introduced and practiced.

Please wear active wear, and running shoes and have water available. Some locations have socks-only flooring.....yoga/pilates/trampoline socks better (with tread).

Please be prepared with your employee number and Manager's name for sign-in.
As this is a physically active program, it is recommended that you have medical clearance if you have any recent injuries which may affect your ability to participate fully. Please discuss this with your Manager prior to registering for this program. It is a requirement that you inform the facilitator of any limitations.


This course is for current staff who work at Fraser Health sites who are assigned to high risk areas such as Emergency and Acute Mental Health/Substance Use and/or participate on the Code White Team.

The Course is delivered in-person

You must have completed the required prerequisites prior to the date of training (8 eLearning Modules and 8 hr PVPC Classroom). Also please note this class has a moderately high physical demand. If you have conditions that may limit your full participation please discuss with your Manager prior to registration. Please wear work-out clothing and running shoes and bring water.
